CNC GASKET
January 31, 2019
A metal part was randomly given to me in my Product Design class, and I was tasked with creating a piece to fit exactly on top of it.
CAD
After receiving the piece, I used a pair of calipers to make all of my measurements. Then, I went into Creo Parametrics and generated a CAD model of the piece.

GASKET PIECE
Once I generated the accurate CAD design, I went to Boston University's Engineering Product Innovation Center. While there, I regenerated the CAD file into GibbsCam and machined the piece on the CNC mill.

FINAL RESULT
During this project, my caliper skills were put to the test. I also learned about the process of creating a part. My initial drawing came from my measurements and that was transformed into a physical piece with the help of technology. At the end of the project, I engineered a gasket piece that fit perfectly on the metal part.
