MAGNETIC DART BOARD
Our project is a magnetic dartboard. It functions as a novelty item with a modern engineering touch with the use of magnets. The dart board will be made using a galvanized steel sheet and a sheet of starboard. The magnetic darts were bought separately, and they were chosen based on their magnet diameters.
MATERIAL SELECTION
List of Materials and Cost
The dart board was made with a starboard body and a galvanized steel playing area (as shown above). The magnets were made from high rare magnetic pull disks. The total cost for the dart board was $62.71.
STARBOARD (HDPE)
Properties

Does not corrode when exposed to different environments.
Resistant to chemicals and moisture.
Relatively cheap.
Easy to machine in EPIC.
Scratch resistant because of its course surface finish.
GALVANIZED STEEL
Properties

Cheap.
Magnetic.
Galvanized plating makes the steel resistant to corrosion.
MAGNETIC DARTS

Small relative to the dart board face.
Cheap.
